Tom Beazley was born in South Shields, to James Nelson, Master Mariner, and Isabella Beazley.

Along with his younger brother, James Nelson Beazley, Tom joined the High School in June, 1897.

He left school in 1899 to train to be an Architect.

He served with the Artists Rifles, a reserve battalion of the London Regiment, and was injured by shrapnel whilst in Flers, in 1916.

It appears that Tom was honourably discharged due to his injuries (being granted the Silver War Badge as a result), and spent time in the Officers Convalescent Hospital in Bournemouth.

He later died at the Manchester Royal Infirmary in July, 1921, at the age of 38.
